Active Directory
The Academic Computing and Communications Center (ACCC) offers Active Directory (AD) services to the UIC community. The UIC AD forest serves our student body in the public computing labs. The UIC AD forest is also available for use by campus departments.
The benefits of a central AD infrastructure allow seamless integration of our public computing labs with existing ACCC services. This directly benefits our student body by offering simplified access to computing resources through a single password.
We also allow departments to leverage AD technology with a reduced investment in time and computer hardware. Departments have the option to completely manage their own Organizational Unit within the UIC AD forest. Benefits include a single password for computer, file, and ACCC e-mail access.
